Hello Clara,
The itinerary Rome/Ponza/Amalfi is quite tricky.
First things first, the 25th of April is a holiday in Italy ( Liberation Day ) so transportation might be limited.
Our recommendation if you want to visit Ponza is take the train from termini train station in Rome and get off at Formia and walk to the pier where the ferries leave for Ponza. Here’s a time chart of the ferries from Formia/Anzio http://www.laziomar.it/formia-ponza.
From Ponza you would still have to return to Formia in order to arrive at the Amalfi coast, unfortunately there is no direct ferry from Ponza to Amalfi. Hello
Wondering if you can help or point me in the right direction.
I’m travelling with friends from Rome – Ponza later this month and then from Ponza – Almafi. Ideally we want to arrive in Ponza April 25th (evening) , in order to have the 26th in Ponza. Then ideally leave Ponza evening of 26th April to Almafi.
I’m nervous about not booking everything in advance because the timings are so specific and its close to Easter period. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?

Hello Sarah,
Unfortunately the last ferry from Anzio to Ponza departs on the 15th of Sept. but doesn’t transport personal vehicles.
Just 50km south of Anzio there is Terracina and it has a bigger port with more departure options and there are ferries that do transport vehicles.
It’s still early in the year but check out the link below for departure hours and costs.

We are travelling from Rome by car on 14/9/19 and want to get a ferry to Ponza and stay until 17/9/19 but no ferry companies seen to run from either Anzio, Formia or Naples at that time. Is this correct?
